Born Richard Turley, his name was changed when he went to New York to Turley Richards. Born in 1941, Turley was blinded in his left eye at the age of four and a half. As a young man, he moved to Los Angeles in 1960. In 1964, he left for New York City to find fame. He released his first Warner Brother album in 1970. In 1972, he left New York to get away from the “Big City Life” to live in Louisville, KY. Turley was also dealing with the fact he had recently become totally blind.
Turley was asked to do a Prime Time TV show on WHAS-TV channel 11, which he did. Turley fell in love with Louisville and eventually became an adopted Louisvillian. You can say he has become a Louisville Legend. Turley is going on the road to do a concert tour. First stop — his hometown — South Charleston, West Virginia. He will be performing at the LaBelle Theatre.
If you join us on the April 2nd – 3rd trip you will stay at the newly remodeled Ramada in S. Charleston. You will enjoy their full service amenities – restaurant, bar, indoor pool, hot tub, exercise facilities and much more. Plus, you will have an exciting itinerary in South Charleston, West Virginia.
